THE Details

Confined Space Awareness training is a critical investment in workplace safety for Ontario workers. In environments where access is limited and hazards are heightened, such as tanks, silos, and sewers, understanding the risks associated with confined spaces is paramount.

This training aligns with Ontario’s Confined Spaces Regulation (O. Reg. 632/05) and includes practical demonstrations of equipment and communication methods used during real confined space operations. By understanding the importance of proper entry procedures, atmospheric monitoring, and emergency response protocols, workers can minimize the likelihood of accidents and injuries.

Safety Guys Confined Space Entry program combines theory and practical training to provide participants with valuable hands-on experience. Our unique training module in Kingston provides opportunity for vertical and side entry practice, experience with tripods, PPE, and gas monitors.
Private Sessions:
Training on client specific equipment. Practical training requires use of a real or mock confined space. We provide tripod and winch; class A/E harness; gas detector; and respirator fitting (if desired).
Course Length: 4 -8 hours. In-class theory followed by practical training. The final time will be determined by experience levels and the number of students.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This Confined Space Entry course is designed for workers who enter, monitor, or work around confined spaces as part of their job.
It is essential for:
  • Workers entering confined spaces such as tanks, silos, pits, vaults, sewers, boilers, vessels, or crawl spaces
  • Attendants (standby personnel) responsible for monitoring entrants and communicating with them
  • Workers performing cleaning, inspection, repair, or maintenance inside confined spaces
  • Supervisors and lead hands overseeing entry operations or signing permits
  • Health and Safety Representatives and JHSC members involved in hazard assessment and procedure review
  • Industrial, municipal, construction, and utility workers where confined spaces are present
  • Contractors who access confined spaces during shutdowns, turnarounds, or special projects
Anyone who enters or directly supports confined space operations needs proper training to recognize hazards, understand atmospheric testing, follow safe entry procedures, and meet Ontario’s Confined Spaces Regulation (O. Reg. 632/05).
