Details

A strong safety culture starts with informed, confident leaders. Our Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Training gives workers the knowledge and practical skills they need to identify hazards, support compliance, and help keep their workplace safe. This course includes key concepts from JHSC Part 1, making it a solid foundation for new or developing safety representatives.

Expert Trainers for Real Learning
Our instructors bring years of experience in Ontario’s health and safety regulations, accident prevention, and workplace best practices. Training is delivered through interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and real workplace examples, so participants understand not just what the law says — but how to apply it on the job.

Customized to Your Industry
Every workplace is different. We tailor the training content to your industry’s specific hazards - whether construction, manufacturing, warehousing, service, healthcare, or municipal operations. Your representatives leave with practical, relevant knowledge they can use immediately to strengthen your Internal Responsibility System (IRS).

Whether you're meeting legal requirements under the OHSA or building a stronger safety program, our Health and Safety Representative training helps your team lead with confidence and make a real impact.
Health and Safety Representative training session in Ontario
"In workplaces, including construction projects, at which the number of workers regularly exceeds five and at which no joint health and safety committee is required (5-19 employees)  employers or constructors must ensure that workers select a health and safety representative [s. 8(1)].

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

HSRs must complete training within 12 months of being appointed or elected, as required by the updated OHSA (2024).

This Health & Safety Representative Training is required for workplaces in Ontario with
6 to 19 workers and is recommended for anyone involved in workplace safety decisions. It’s designed for workers who are stepping into a leadership role within the Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
  • Workers selected or elected to be Health & Safety Representatives
  • Employees in workplaces without a full JHSC
  • Supervisors, lead hands, and team leads who support safety decisions
  • Newer safety reps who need practical, hands-on guidance
  • Small business owners who manage safety themselves
  • Municipal, construction, industrial, warehousing, and service sector workers
Anyone responsible for identifying hazards, participating in inspections, or supporting OHSA compliance will benefit from this course. It builds confidence, strengthens due diligence, and helps create safer workplaces.
