THE Details

A strong Joint Health & Safety Committee only works when its members stay current. Ontario’s workplaces change fast - new equipment, new processes, new hazards, and new expectations under the OHSA.

Our
JHSC Refresher course gives Certified Members the chance to reset, rebuild confidence, and strengthen the skills they rely on during inspections, investigations, and day-to-day safety decisions.
Important Update from the Ministry
The MLITSD now confirms that you may take the JHSC Refresher course even if your certification has expired.

You do not need to repeat JHSC Part 1 and Part 2. However, you cannot act as a Certified Member again until your refresher is completed and your certification is reinstated.

Why Take the Refresher? Refresher keeps workers up to date on:
  • Legislative changes
  • New hazards and controls
  • RACE/PEMEP methodology
  • Inspection and investigation best practices
  • Due diligence expectations

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

JHSC Refresher Training is required every three years for all Certified Members in Ontario. It helps committee members stay current with OHSA requirements, hazard control strategies, and the Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
  • Certified JHSC Members whose 3-year cycle is approaching
  • Workers and supervisors who previously completed JHSC Part 1 & 2
  • Committee members actively involved in inspections, investigations, and recommendations
  • Lead hands, team leaders, and managers supporting health & safety decisions
  • HR and safety coordinators responsible for compliance
  • Municipal, industrial, construction, warehousing, healthcare, and service sector workers

WHAT YOU LEARN

What we provide: Full colour manuals, student workbooks, a copy of the Green Book, an engaging, highly knowledgable instructor, comfortable chairs, group discussions and evaluations. We submit your training records through the Ministry CRM to the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO).
