LOTO Details

Every year, workers are seriously injured or killed because machinery or equipment wasn’t properly isolated before maintenance or cleaning. Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) is one of the most effective ways to prevent these incidents. It ensures that equipment stays shut down, powered off, and safely isolated so no one is placed at risk during servicing.

Our LOTO training gives workers the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to apply lockout devices, verify isolation, use tags correctly, and follow safe energy-control procedures. Participants learn how to identify hazardous energy sources, understand the steps of a LOTO program, and protect themselves and their team from unexpected start-up, movement, or electrical activation.

When LOTO is not done correctly, the consequences are life-changing—amputations, crushed limbs, electric shock, severe burns, and fatal injuries. We take these risks seriously and deliver training that helps workers stay alert, competent, and confident around machinery.

This course can be tailored to your facility, equipment, and procedures to support your internal program and strengthen your due diligence. Connect with us to build a safer workplace and ensure your team has the skills to control hazardous energy effectively.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) course is essential for anyone who works with, around, or near machinery, equipment, or energy sources that could start up unexpectedly. It is recommended for:
  • Maintenance and repair technicians
  • Machine operators and line workers
  • Millwrights and industrial mechanics
  • Electricians and apprentices
  • Production and warehouse staff
  • Custodial or sanitation workers (who enter equipment for cleaning)
  • Supervisors and lead hands responsible for enforcing LOTO procedures
  • Health and Safety Representatives and JHSC committee members
  • Contractors performing service work in facilities
Any worker who performs servicing, cleaning, troubleshooting, or setup on powered equipment should be trained in LOTO to prevent serious injuries caused by unexpected start-up or stored-energy release.
