THE Details

Basic Life Support (BLS) is advanced CPR training designed for healthcare professionals, first responders, and others who need a higher level of resuscitation training for their work or professional designation.

BLS goes beyond standard workplace CPR by focusing on the rapid recognition of cardiac arrest, high-quality CPR, effective ventilation, early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and coordinated response when two or more trained rescuers are available.

The course develops both individual resuscitation skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a high-performance response team.
What first aid training does your business need?
All businesses in Ontario covered by the WSIA must provide first aid training to their employees. The required training depends on the number of employees per shift:
  • For workplaces with five or fewer people working on any one shift, at least one person must have an emergency first aid certificate.
  • For workplaces with six or more people working on any shift, at least one person must have a standard first aid certificate.
