Skid steers are powerful, versatile machines used across construction, landscaping, farming, and material-handling industries — but without proper training, they can pose serious safety risks.
Our Skid Steer Operator Training teaches workers how to operate safely and confidently while meeting Ontario’s safety expectations and employer due-diligence requirements. This course covers the fundamentals of skid steer operation, including machine controls, safe driving techniques, load handling, stability, hazard identification, and basic maintenance. Participants learn how to inspect the equipment, recognize common risks, and apply best practices to prevent rollovers, struck-by incidents, and mechanical failures. Our program combines 3.5 hours of theory with practical, hands-on operator evaluation. During the practical session, students demonstrate how to inspect the machine, use the controls smoothly, steer and brake safely, lift and carry materials, and operate with precision in real-world conditions. Whether you’re new to operating a skid steer or an experienced worker looking to refresh your skills, this Ontario-compliant course helps operators build confidence, competency, and safe habits on the job. |
