Traffic Control Persons play a critical role in keeping workers and the public safe around active work zones. In Ontario, anyone performing TCP duties must complete recognized training that follows the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7 – Temporary Conditions and demonstrate they can apply those skills safely on the job.
Our TCP training teaches workers how to control the flow of traffic, communicate effectively, position themselves safely, and manage work zones in accordance with Book 7 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. But training doesn’t end in the classroom. To be considered fully competent, participants must return to their workplace and:
