Introducing our Newly expanded worker awareness course

We’re proud to introduce our updated Worker Awareness program, formerly known as "Introduction to the OHSA".

From rights, responsibilities, and hazard recognition to communication, teamwork, and real trade-readiness skills, every section has been redesigned to reflect today’s worksites and tomorrow’s expectations.
This isn’t just about compliance.

It’s about helping workers build the habits that keep them safe, trusted, and ready to grow in the trades.

THE DETAILS

A lot of Worker Awareness courses explain the rules. Ours explains how safe work actually happens. We built this program from real jobsite experience, modern safety research, and years of teaching workers across Ontario.

It doesn’t just cover the law, it helps workers understand how their actions affect the crew, the workflow, and the safety of the job.

We focus on:
  • How hazards really develop on site
  • How workers communicate and coordinate safely
  • How everyday habits prevent incidents
  • How new workers build trust and confidence in the trades
  • How safety is created by people, not just procedures

We still cover everything required by Ontario Regulation 297/13.
But we teach it in a way workers remember when they step onto the job.
Picture
To be legally compliant in Ontario, every worker must:
  • Complete Worker Awareness Training (O. Reg. 297/13, s.1)
  • Understand their duties under OHSA s.28
  • Follow applicable sector regulations and workplace safety procedures
  • Work safely, report hazards, and use required protective equipment
  • Cooperate with supervisors, the JHSC/HSR, and MLITSD inspectors

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • New hires starting work in Ontario

Compliance
This training meets the requirements of Ontario Regulation 297/13 – Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). It is designed to help workers understand their rights and duties under Section 28 of the OHSA and how those responsibilities apply within Ontario workplaces and sector regulations (e.g., O. Reg. 213/91 – Construction Projects and Reg. 851 – Industrial Establishments).

Construction Worker Instruction Requirement (“4-Step Worker Awareness”):
Under O. Reg. 213/91, Section 8(1): No worker shall begin work at a project until the worker has received instruction on the hazards and safe work practices required on the project.
