THE Details

Working at Heights is our most in-demand course, and we run multiple public sessions every week to support the workers and companies we serve across Kingston, Belleville, Picton, and surrounding Ontario communities.

Whether you’re experienced or brand new to working at heights, this training gives you the practical skills and confidence you need to work safely.
  • Our program meets all requirements of Ontario’s CPO-approved Working at Heights (WAH) Program Standard and covers the essentials of fall prevention, equipment inspection, safe anchor selection, and maintaining 100% tie-off.
  • Through clear instruction and hands-on practice, participants learn how to recognize fall hazards, use their equipment correctly, and apply safe procedures on the job.

This training isn’t just about meeting a legal requirement - it’s about building the habits and awareness that keep people safe. Workers leave with stronger skills, clearer expectations, and the confidence to do their work responsibly at height.

Completing your Working at Heights certification with Safety Guys ensures you’re prepared, compliant, and ready for new opportunities in construction and related trades.
Working at Heights Module 1: Theory  - 3.5 hours
Working at Heights Module 2: Practical - 4.0 hours
Working at Heights Refresher: 4.0 hours

Private sessions can be arranged at your location or at one of our training centres in Belleville, Picton or Kingston.

Our manuals are now printed in full colour and follow AODA design guidelines to improve the student experience!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This WAH course is required for anyone in the construction sector who has not previously completed Working at Heights training. It is also mandatory for workers in other industries who perform construction-related work, as defined under Ontario’s Construction Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91).
  • Construction workers and apprentices
  • Roofers, framers, and labourers
  • Skilled trades such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians
  • Industrial workers who perform construction-related tasks
  • Maintenance and facilities staff who work on ladders, platforms, or elevated areas
  • Supervisors and lead hands responsible for overseeing work at height
  • Temporary workers and subcontractors entering construction sites
  • New workers needing initial certification for employment
  • Anyone using fall protection equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, anchors, or lifelines
Ontario’s Construction Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91) requires Working at Heights training for most construction-related roles. If your job involves fall hazards, elevated work, or access equipment, this course ensures you’re trained, competent, and legally compliant.
What is considered "construction?"

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), “construction” is defined to include erection, alteration, repair, dismantling, demolition, structural maintenance, painting, land clearing, earth moving, grading, excavating, trenching, digging, boring, drilling, blasting or concreting, the installation of any machinery or plant, and any work or undertaking in connection with a project (excluding any work or undertaking underground in a mine).
