Who Should Attend?

This MEWP course is designed for workers who operate or work near boom lifts, articulating booms, and telescopic boom lifts on job sites across Ontario. Because MEWPs involve elevation, movement, and overhead hazards, workers must be properly trained to meet OHSA, manufacturer, and ANSI/CSA standards.
  • Construction workers and apprentices
  • Skilled trades such as electricians, HVAC, plumbers, and carpenters
  • Industrial maintenance and facilities workers
  • Warehouse and manufacturing staff who use MEWPs indoors
  • Sign installers, painters, and building maintenance workers
  • Telecommunications and electrical utility workers
  • Film, event, and production crews using elevated work platforms
  • Supervisors and lead hands overseeing elevated work
  • New operators, experienced operators, and workers needing recertification
Any worker who uses or works around articulating boom lifts, telescopic booms, or similar lifting equipment must be trained and evaluated to operate safely, assess hazards, understand load limits, and use fall protection correctly.
