Safety Guys Workplace Safety Trainers
COVID-19 Statement

Updates: as of May 5, 2020

  1. We are considered an essential service if we are providing a service to another essential business. This will not be training as it was and each request will be assessed individually. We are looking at Zoom sessions coupled with online training as much as possible - social distancing is still critical.
  2. Our offices remain closed to walk-in traffic, but staff are working from home and available to assist you.. Visit our contact page for information.
  3. Equipment orders are available through curb-side pick-up.

Practical Training Protocols

Many of our courses require a practical training component to verify competency. We will work with our clients to customize practical training that we both agree will protect the health and safety of students. Below are are some of the procedures already in place. This is not an exhaustive list and we will add more safety measures as we continue to perform risk assessments and establish controls.

  • Students must abide with our Health and Safety statement and all orders declared by our provincial and federal governments.
  • Cleaning and using disinfectant on all classroom and equipment surfaces will be of the highest priority.
  • Class size will be limited to a maximum of four (4) students per session.
  • Social distancing of 6' between students will be maintained at all times
  • We encourage students to wear fabric (home made) face masks
  • Each desk will be supplied with hand sanitizer
  • Shared washroom facilities will have strict practices that students will be expected to follow
  • We have upgraded to touchless taps at our Kingston location
  • Air exchangers with HEPA filters have been added to our Kingston classroom and garage.
  • To reduce shared surfaces, we will no longer be providing coffee
  • We will work outside as much as possible.
  • We are eliminating shared paper - students will be supplied with tablets for theory testing.
  • No cash payments will be accepted.

Health & Safety Statement

The safety of our students and staff is of the upmost importance to us. In an effort to ensure a healthy environment, we respectfully request that individuals not visit our facilities if they have:
  • Any flu like symptoms – i.e. a fever, sore throat, headache etc.
  • Been in contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed as having COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • In the past 14 days travelled to or from a geographic region that has an elevated threat of COVID-19, or is outside a 50 km zone of our training location.

If you have been enrolled in one of our courses, and are experiencing one or more of the aforementioned symptoms, we ask that you please contact us to immediately. If you have paid in advance, we are happy to extend that credit for a full year.
