Details

Did you know that annually, approximately 145,000 Canadian workers encounter asbestos in their workplaces? Sadly, this exposure leads to over 2,000 diagnoses of severe and often fatal diseases such as mesothelioma and lung cancer. As a result, asbestos has garnered the unfortunate distinction of being the leading cause of workplace-related deaths.

The Safety Guys Asbestos Worker 1 & 2 course equips workers with the knowledge to identify potential asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and safeguard themselves against inadvertent exposure. Participants will also learn the proper procedures for the safe removal of small quantities of ACM, as defined by Type 1 and 2 operations.
The course thoroughly covers the legal requirements and obligations outlined in provincial regulations, ensuring compliance and accountability.

Practical exercises, including erecting enclosures and implementing ventilation procedures, provide hands-on experience and reinforce learning outcomes.

By investing in this training, organizations demonstrate their commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of their workforce, mitigating risks associated with asbestos exposure, and upholding regulatory standards.
