Who Should Take the Course? Supervisors, lead hands and small business owners that also take the role of supervisor in the daily management of the business. This course has been designed to highlight specific hazards and procedures for supervisors in the construction industry.
DESCRIPTIONOntario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) describes a supervisor as anyone who “has charge of a workplace or authority over a worker.” OHSA Regulations also state that supervisors must receive training in their responsibilities within one week of starting their role at the workplace.
A supervisor will have specific workplace duties such as those listed below. Most importantly, a supervisor is also subject to specific OHSA regulations and Ministry of Labour fines and penalties if they fail to perform their duties in a manner that protects the health and safety of workers. Our Supervisor Awareness Course will help prepare you for success and inform you of the regulations, processes and procedures you must understand to protect yourself, your company and your workers.
