Public Course Details
At our Kingston location students will take practice training inside our new indoor space using our electric forklift. We have a different set-up in Belleville, and the forklift may be electric or propane with practical training conducted outdoors.
- Cost: $250.00 per student (plus HST)
- Start Time: 8:30 am
- Course Length: 4 hours of theory followed by practical training. Final course time will depend on the number of enrolled students and levels of experience.
- Requirements: All students must wear CSA approved steel toes-boots and be prepared for weather conditions
Forklift Classes
Theory training provides instruction on the safe operation of following classes of forklifts. Pre-insepction, hazard awareness, driving and lifting techniques also apply to these three classes.
- CLASS 1: Counterbalanced Rider Type, Cushion Tires, Sit Down
- CLASS 4: Internal combustion cushion tire forklifts
- CLASS 5: Internal combustion engine pneumatic tire forklifts.
Who should take this course?
Workers who are required to operate a forklift at their workplace are required to receive training before they first operate a machine with refresher training every three years or if poor performance indicates this should b done sooner. Students receive theory and practical instruction on the safe operation of machinery, applicable OHSA requirements, MLTSD Regulations, accident prevention, safe handling of materials, loads and stability, and operational controls.
