Protect your workers
Wearing the wrong respirator is as dangerous as not wearing one at all.
Respirators protect us against a variety of atmospheric hazards. It is essential to select the right respirator for the job to ensure you stay safely protected. Workers in construction, industrial, farming, health care and asbestos removal are especially vulnerable and must use respirators if other controls are not available to protect them.

All respirators must fit well and provide a proper seal with the wearer's face in order to provide adequate protection. Selecting the right type of mask and filters is also crucial. Participants must be clean shaven to ensure a proper fit and seal during fit testing.
When is Fit Testing Required?
  1. Before an individual uses a respirator for the first time.
  2. At the time of respirator training.
  3. When changes to a user’s physical condition could affect the fit (ex.. weight gain or loss).
  4. When there is a change in  the make, model or size of a respirator.
  5. When a respirator user experiences continued significant discomfort during use or difficulty in completing a successful user seal check.
  6. When there is a change in PPE use that could affect the respirator.
  7. At least every 2 years.
